5 Fun Ways to Gift-Wrap Small Items

Posted by Cecilia Katan on

Welcome to tips'n'tricks from Pinz'n'Thingz!

In this blog post, I'll show you 5 fun ways to gift-wrap small items!

Here's a video of the tutorial. Continue reading below for a written version!

Idea #1 - "Pack Mules"

Here’s what you’ll need for the first idea:

The small items you want to gift-wrap;

Small boxes;

Toy animals;

Tissue paper;

And scissors.

Start by placing your items into the small boxes.

If the box you use is slightly too big or just too plain, you can line it with tissue paper.

Then, stack the box or boxes onto the toy animal’s back, and tie them together with ribbon. I like to use wired ribbon so that I can shape it into a nice bow.

And it’s as easy as that!

Idea #2 - "So Jelly"

For the second idea, you’ll need the following:

The small gift;

A scrap of wrapping paper and scissors;

An empty jam/jelly jar or mason jar;

A candy cane or bauble to attach to the outside (optional);

And some tape.

Start by wrapping the small item in paper, then insert it into the mason jar.

Tie the ribbon around the lid, then attach the candy cane or bauble, and finish with a bow.

Idea #3 - "Make a Scene"

Here’s what you’ll need for this idea:

Small, flat gift items;

A flat, rigid envelope;

Hot glue;

And decorative figures.

If one of your figures lights up, such as this tree here, the first thing you’ll want to do is cut out a hole for the switch. Align it with the envelope, and cut out a section big enough to allow access to the switch.

Next, insert the gift items and seal the envelope.

Then, use hot glue to affix the decorations. You can also add a gift tag or write the recipient’s name directly on it. Add glitter for bonus points!

Idea #4 - "Ornament Surprise"

For this idea, you’ll need:

Your small gift;

A plastic ornament that opens in half;

Tissue paper;

And twine or ribbon, which normally comes with the ornament.

This one is the easiest, as all you need to do is cover the item in tissue, and seal it into the ornament. You may need to tape the sides if it won’t stay closed. Otherwise, just tie some twine or ribbon onto it, and that’s all!

Idea #5 - "The Giving Tree"

For this idea, you’ll need:

Several small gifts;

Twigs or small tree branches;

A vase;

Wrapping paper;

And ribbon.

Start by cutting small pieces of paper, then wrap your small gifts.

If they’re a difficult shape to wrap, you can easily create small envelopes for them by folding the paper itself before inserting the items.

Next, arrange the branches inside the vase, and tie the ribbon around it in a decorative fashion.

Then, tie the tiny parcels off with twine, and arrange them among the branches.

And voilà!
